Summary
A woman's stocking from a pair of stockings, made from beige machine-knitted silk lisle. The new and unworn stocking has a merchant's paper label still attached to the outer face of the stocking cuff which reads, "By Appointment. Robinson & Cleaver's. 42H. 9". 5. Belfast, London & Liverpool". A further sticky label attached to the stocking toe outer face reads, "Jackdaw Hosiery". A woven name tape sewn onto the inner face of the cuff reads, "B.C.M/JACKDAW". Both these markings refer to Jackdaw Hosiery, the manufacturers of the stocking. Also handwritten on the inner face of the stocking cuff the name "Brett", the donor.
