Summary
A woman's evening skirt, part of an evening dress, made from harvest gold silk taffeta. The skirt is decorated with a deep pleated silk ruffle on the hem and is otherwise undecorated. Internally, the skirt is fully lined in cotton gauze, with a calico waistband and a calico-lined pocket on the right hand side. It fastens with two hooks and eyes on the waistband centre back, intact. A handwritten marking on the inner face of the waistband reads, "Conyngham", the donor.
