Summary
Woman’s cape. Black silk/cotton satin cape with appliqué wool designs and jet beading. The bottom of the satin cape is trimmed with a double flounce of black machine lace further trimmed with a ruffle of fine striped silk ribbon. The cape is lined with a black silk/cotton mix and has a pinked ruffle at the hem and a large internal patch pocket proper left front. The lining extends down below the edge of the satin to carry a further elaborate flounce of a fine ridged silk trimmed with a double row of the gathered, striped ribbon. The collar is trimmed with a ruffle of the machine lace overlaid with a ruffle of the ridged silk. The front openings of the cape are decorated with wide silk satin ribbon ties, these are liberally trimmed with black lace, striped ribbon and satin ribbon rosettes. The ties are stitched to the cape at the neck and half way down the Cf opening; the rest hangs free.
