Summary
A woman's fan made from silk gauze and bone. The gold-coloured silk gauze leaf is decorated with a central band of hand-painted flowers in pink, pale blue, yellow and grey, with the rest of the leaf decorated with flowers and leaves in gold and mother-of-pearl coloured sequins. The guards, sticks and ribs are made from bone, carved in a floral motif and highlighted with gilding and gold-coloured sequins. The fan is secured at the base with a brass and mother-of-pearl pivot and handle, intact.
