Summary
Sampler, dated 1651, Elizabeth Bee. Linen embroidered with coloured silks using double-running, satin, long-armed cross and chain stitches. Most of the sampler consists of rows of border patterns, which include a row of 'boxers'. The bottom section contains small random spot motifs worked in double-running stitch. Alphabet A to Z.
