Summary
A yew and elm low hoop back Windsor armchair, attributed to Robert Prior, Uxbridge (fl.1816-45), circa 1820. The back with three splats pierced with Prince of Wales feathers, the shaped arms held by sabre supports and further conforming splats, the solid seat raised on ring turned legs and tied by a crinoline stretcher. Some alteration.
Provenance
Bequest to the National Trust of tapestries, pictures, furniture and objects d'art from Sir Malcolm Stewart in 1960.
