Summary
A pair of giltwood, ebonised and marble top console tables, English probably mid 19th century. Mid 18th century style, each with a later verde antico marble top above a frieze carved with Vitruvian scroll work and supported by a carved eagle with wings raised and standing on a naturalistic rock, raised on a stepped plinth base with moulded carved gilt edges.
Provenance
Bequest to the National Trust of tapestries, pictures, furniture and objects d'art from Sir Malcolm Stewart in 1960.
