Summary
A black velvet waistcoat from the Court Dress of Sir Edward Green Bt (1831-1923). In good condition. The ensemble consists of a) Black velvet coatee. Six marcasite buttons fastening, one marcasite button in each tail fold. Label 'Henry Poole and Co, 37,38,39 Saville Row. Sir Edward Green Bt.' b)Black velvet waistcoat with five marcasite buttons. c) Black velvet kneebreeches three buttons and buckle in marcasite at each knee. Label'no. 3475 Edward Green Esq.' d) Cocked hat, black velvet, diagonally on each side six rows of chain ending with scalloped clasp with round marcasite button. Label inside - 'H Poole and Co Saville Row, London.' e)Girdle in silver lace and blue, lined with red silk. f) Girdle in black with black silk hose. g) One pair of black silk hose. h) Pair of black pumps with marcasite buckles. Remarks - Small sword and scabbard are probably en suite (M/61a,b)
