Print, Saint Francis of Assisi (Giovanni Francesco di Bernadone) (1181-1226) preaching before Pope Honorius III (Cencio Savelli) (d.1227), after Giotto (Colle di Vespigniano near Vicchio 1266/7 – Florence 1337). The original is in the Basilica of St Francis, Assisi. A print of an indoor scene viewed through three arches of a building. Two slim pillars divide the scene. The Pope or a cardinal seems to be giving an audience. He is dressed in red and sitting on a raised throne. There are figures sitting to his right and left. Those to his left are in a group of three. In storage.
