Summary
Print, etching, Bindo Altoviti (1491-1556) (by Raphael) by Thomas Holloway (London 1749 - Coltishall 1827). This portrait was thought in the nineteenth century to be a Raphael self-portrait. However, the young man was Bindo Altoviti (1491-1556), a wealthy Florentine banker and friend of the artist in Rome. The original is in the collection of the National Gallery, Washington.
