Summary
Portrait miniature, watercolour on ivory, Sir Walter Raleigh (1552?-1618) attributed to Henry Pierce Bone (Islington 1779 - 1855). Oval. Head and shoulders portrait of a man, turned slightly to the right, gazing at the spectator, wearing a lavishly embroidered surcoat, white doublet, ruff, black hat with feathers. Dark eyes, dark hair and beard, pale xomplexion. Light grey stippled background, lit from the right.
