Summary
Watercolour on paper, 'The Maid of Wallington Well' (Pauline Jermyn, Lady Trevelyan 1816-1866) by Dr S Acland. The picture is titled ‘Maid of wallington Well’ and was drawn by S. Acland a friend of the family – the Acland and Trevelyan families were connected as friends for several generations. There is a poem on the reverse dated 1845.

Top left: This picture was made over to me to be kept at Wallington by Mr Baxter the librarian at the Bodleian at Oxford. The well is clearly the word well and maid is probably Lady Pauline Trevelyan. Sept 1931. Middle : "Maid of Wallington Well Drawn by S Acland with egg" Lettter describing it in 1856 in Bodleian Library Middle right: Letter written in 1895 Poem.
