Marks and inscriptions

Loose piece of card accompanying document: White piece of card - Typed in black ink - This letter was written by Pauline, Lady Trevelyan to Louise Stewart-Mackenzie In early August 1855 before Miss Mackenzie became Lady Ashburton. It describes a painting - which now hangs in the Parlour - by Dr ( later Sir Henry) Acland (1819 - 1900), who was a life-long friend of Ruskin and became Regius Professor of Medicine in the University of Oxford.
