Bronze, Head of Doryphoros "Spear-Bearer" (after Polykleitos) by Sabatino de Angelis and Son. One of six bronze portrait busts of philosophers, the only one of the group not on a marble socle. This is Doryphorus of Polycletus, signed Apollonius, son of Achios, the Athenian made it. The head of one of the best known Greek sculptures of the classical era in Western Art and an early example of Greek classical contrapposto.
