Summary
A mahogany tester bed, English, circa 1830. The parcel gilt and painted canopy with moulded cornice and projecting corners with pendant finials, the frieze applied with small rosettes and hung with Maroon coloured Morris & Co drapes,[Acanthus design woven in cotton and silk damask, registered 15th May 1879] supported by posts with spiral-twist columnar sections with foliate clasps and ebonised detail, the lower part square in section and with arched panel effect below foliate detail and tapering to a block foot applied with ebonised roundels, together with two hair mattresses, four pillows and openwork white linen embroidered bedspread.
