Summary
A satinwood, rosewood and marquetry oval occasional table, French, circa 1880. Also known as a 'table en chiffonniere', the top with three-quarter pierced brass gallery and detailed design of trophies amongst trailing foliage and below a canopy, all in sycamore, harewood and fruitwood, above three drawers flanked by simulated flutes and floral marquetry in the round, on cabriole legs joined by a kidney-shaped undertier with inlay depicting various objects, with paper label NATIONAL TRUST.

A table en chiffonniere is a small portable table with one or more drawers, suitable for use in the drawing room or beside a bed.
