Summary
Ornate pink silk (boudoir?) jacket with self ornamentation. This extraordinary garment is open at the sides, joined only by 3 strips of pink silk. The ornamental panels are worked separately and then attached to the garment. They depict grape vines, all worked in the same pink silk. A panel runs from the shoulder on each side down the back and down each front. There are also panels at the ends of each sleeve. The sleeves themselves are triangular shaped, with lead weights in the points. There is a lace flounce along the front edges and round the back of the neck.
