Summary
Pair of shoes of canvas type material in the toes. Cream silk on underside of tongue. Seems to be cream/white kid everywhere else, almost all missing. There is a sturdy supporting layer of a brown material between the lining and the exterior fabric, probably to provide shape to the shoe. Exterior silk. Broad blunt toes and heels (cannot see heels). Buckles are magnetic and have extensive red corrosion ?indicating an iron core. The exterior is gold in colour and has copper products so has probably been coated to provide protection and look impressive. Stones that can be seen below the corrosion are shiney silver grey ? marcasite/pyrite. The rosettes may be a later addition, the colour is not the same as the shoe. The tongue is not large enough to support the rosettes so further backing has been added. The stitches are not as neat. Sole has what looks like a leather edging and is possibly made of wood. The heel sounds to be made of wood. (THESE LOOK TO BE OF AN AGE THEY COULD BE LADIES OR GENTS)
