Winding frame WIMBLE OR WHIMBLE used in the manufacture of rope. Box frame with recessed spindles with centre revolving fixed metal pointed shaft. Known colloquially as a Wink.

Provenance

Transferred to the Trust from North Dartmoor Museums Association in 1994 - no OKMDL number but listed in transfer inventory as item number 1522 and described as a Wink.
