Summary
Half Turn hook - Flat sectioned blade with graduated base toward the handle, the tip of the hook in the style of a 'bird's beak'. The blade's back is thick and designed to give extra force when using for cutting small branches etc. This example is stamped with I & J Finch, and therefore assumed to have been made at Finch Foundry. Similar item features in the Finch Bros tool catalogue, items no. 6 & 7.
