Summary
Meat cleaver - Devon cleaver, large butchery or slaughterhouse cleaver, has a raised area toward the tip of the cleaver which is edged and presumably employed for splitting bone. The cleaver has been heavily used due to the evident use wear on the blades. The blade body is stamped with I & J Finch and therefore made at the Foundry. Similar item features in the Finch Bros tool catalogue, item no. 24.
