Summary
Swan necked or Bury hoe head - The blade and neck are formed by hammering out two flat sections, the blade is then shaped through hammering and cutting, the handle socket is created by shaping around a circular handle. The blade is then finished by grinding and edging. The area between the blade and socket is known as the neck, this example has a triangular sectioned neck, the 'S' type shape of the neck is the reasoning behind the name. TStamped Finch Bros.
