Summary
An end over end butter churn, with a four-legged wooden frame supporting a coopered barrel. A wooden lid is held onto the barrel by four hand-operated turn screws. The barrel is turned by a handle but does not pivot at an equally positioned point to allow the lid to automatically end up the right way up. The iron bands of the barrel are all present but two have slipped off.
