Summary

Dark mahogany tatting bobbin for lace. Cylindrical profile with multiple grooves and collars, two brass wire sections in middle, narrower section below thistle finial. With 5 glass beads - 2 clear and rose streaked squares, 2 clear squares with impressed surfaces, 1 opaque white bun-shaped with purple swirls. Handwritten label, inscribed - 'Lace bobbin brass wire decoration 2/6 part C'.

Provenance

An item from the Pamela Ward Collection, left to the National Trust in the will of Miss Ward in 1994.
