Summary
Clear glass pepper caster, bottle shaped, with straight neck, sloping shoulder and straight sided cylindrical bowl. Neck cut with band of rounded flutes, shoulder cut with rectangular flutes, bowl cut with rounded diamond facets. Bowl with star cut base. Caster with domed silver lid. Perforated dome with ball knop finial. Silver hallmarked, maker 'J E and Co', indistinct assay office, date letter 'x'. Inscribed - Sugar silver Sheffield 1817 35p (on base)
