Summary
A beechwood high-back armchair, English, circa 1850. Originally simulated rosewood now faded, with curved bar toprail and six ball-turned vertical uprights flanked by partially turned outer uprights, the arms with similar under-arm galleries, the solid shaped seat applied with roundels at the sides, standing on ball-turned legs with octagonal collars and bun feet with lignum vitae castors, all joined by similar stretchers, fitted with a squab cushion in red cotton.
