Summary
Set of 48 architectural drawings, contained within Box No 2. Architectural drawings, sketches and plans, all by William Burges, of Knightshayes Court and Estate buildings. Contents consist of- foundation plan 1869; Morning Room ceiling; details of chimney; Library ceiling; Drawing Room square bay; entrance door to Nursery; door details; Drawing Room gallery 1875; 12 plans of the interior of the Hall and staircase; the Hall Screen and Minstrels' Gallery; 2 external elevations of the Hall; the external elevation of the South front; the bay window in the Drawing Room; sectional plan of the Morning Room; details of the roof; 3 proposed alterations to the servants' quarters; a roof plan of the main mansion; early second floor, first floor and cellar plans; 2 sheets of fireplace decoration; a fragment of a roof plan; 7 plans of the Billiard Room; the South front windows; and a sheet of sketches. In total there are 45 items in the box, all well protected in polyester sleeves, with evidence of conservation work having been carried out on several. 3 are framed and located in the store room (.2 , .14 and .32).
