Summary

Cover for a porcelain storage jar of baluster shape, produced in China for export to Europe, early 19th century. With panels depicting colourful scenes of domestic and street life, heavily decorated with fruits, flowers and insects, gilded tin rim protection added. Drilled holes for fixing wires to secure lid in transport or storage. This maybe KNI/C/5, but number and description needs to be verified.
