Porphyry column with a white collar on a square white marble base. Used to display the plaster bust of Mary Queen of Scots (NT 534014) in the Great Hall. One of a pair of columns (NT 534021.1-2) Acquired in 1845
Provenance
Presented to the National Trust by Sir Montgomerie Fairfax-Lucy (1896 – 1965), two years after the death of his father, Sir Henry Ramsay-Fairfax, 3rd Bt (1870 – 1944), with Charlecote Park and its chief contents, in 1946.
