Summary
18th century plaster bust of Sir Thomas Lucy. The bust balances on a small rectangular base, with a gold inscription ‘Sir Thomas Lucy Kt Died 1606’. He has short hair, a moustache and a long beard. His clothing has annotated gold details. Sir Thomas Lucy II died in 1605 and this bust has been copied from his tomb in St Leonard’s Church, Charlecote.
Provenance
Presented to the National Trust by Sir Montgomerie Fairfax-Lucy (1896 – 1965), two years after the death of his father, Sir Henry Ramsay-Fairfax, 3rd Bt (1870 – 1944), with Charlecote Park and its chief contents, in 1946.
