Summary
A centre table, English, circa 1830, possibly by G. J. Morant of Bond Street, London. Oak veneered with burr-walnut and carved walnut, the circular top is inlaid with a surrounding band of ebony and foliate marquetry of oak leaves, acorns and ivy. Table top sits above a support and a tripod base carved with scrolling acanthus feet. Brass fixings underneath the table top stamped ‘oopes’.
