Summary
Mameluke hilted sword and scabbard with curved blade, gilded hilt and with ivory slab grip ( secured by two rivets with decorative heads). The 'pommel' has a sword knot slot ( but the sword knot is not present). The cross-guard has cast relief decoration. The sword has two rounded quillons adorned with leaves. The Scabbard is decorated with two gilt mounts with prominent cast relief. Part of a collection of twelve swords and scabbards

Presented to the National Trust by Sir Montgomerie Fairfax-Lucy (1896 – 1965), two years after the death of his father, Sir Henry Ramsay-Fairfax, 3rd Bt (1870 – 1944), with Charlecote Park and its chief contents, in 1946.
