Summary
Documents etc., relating to interment, found in Wolfe family vault underneath church of St. Alphege in Greenwich, before it was bricked up in 1859. Consists of a copy of the inscriptions from the breast plates of General Wolfe's coffin, and those of his parents, made by the then churchwarden of St. Alphege, William E. Holding; a piece of black cloth taken from General Wolfe's coffin; and a copy of the Quebec Mercury newspaper, dated 21st November 1839, found on top of Wolfe's coffin.
