Summary
One of a pair, Blue John and ormolu cassolettes and covers, campana-shaped body overlaid with pierced guilloche bands and flutings. Leafy satyr masks, pierced rims and cone finials, mounted bases on 4 Sphinx feet, lower base, mounted with pierced ormolu flowered scrolls and turned chased feet. Probably by Matthew Boulton.
Provenance
Bequeathed to the National Trust by Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966) with the house and the rest of the contents.
