Silver shaped circular soup tureen and cover, on 4 paw feet, partly fluted body and waved gadroon rim, reeded angular handles, cover with fluted centre and shell handle, engraved with monogram and crest of Queen Charlotte, George III by Daniel Pontifex 1803. Hallmark.

Queen Charlotte (1744-1818) David Black & Sons, London W1, sold the tureen to Lord Fairhaven on 28 October 1943 for £115, invoice not numbered (Urban) Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966); bequeathed by Lord Fairhaven to the National Trust along with the house and the rest of the contents National Trust
