Summary
Silver wine cooler, used as jardiniere. Boat-shaped chariot on 4 scroll foliage wheels, body chased with foliage panels, with applied badges of 1st Regiment Life Guards at each side and figures of Victory at each end. Projecting plaque at one end engraved with presentation inscription 'Presented to the Officers of the 1st Reg't of Life Guards by Sir Henry Bunce Bart on his leaving the Regiment 1841'. English, Barnard and Co. 1842. Detachable copper liner (AA/S/6A) in Brushing Room. Renumbered for Data Migration.
Provenance
Bequeathed to the National Trust by Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966) with the house and the rest of the contents.
