Summary
Photograph, black and white, Anglesey Abbey, South Side. Inscribed in pencil on reverse 'Pelham Richard, apothecary and artist, died 1844. Son of Rev Richard Pelham. He made his watercolour drawings relating to Cambridgeshire c.1797-1833. It would seem probable that these three Anglesea Abbey drawings were made c.1812. The Pelham Collection consisting of 3 vols is now preserved in the C.A.S. Library, Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology, Cambridge, where there is a typewritten hand list, of which there is also a copy at the University Library (ref Camb 934.2), signed E.G.BB.' Mounted on card.
Provenance
Bequeathed to the National Trust by Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966) with the house and the rest of the contents.
