Summary
Portrait miniature, watercolour on ivory, Princess Charlotte Augusta, Princess of Wales (1796–1817) attributed to Simon-Jacques Rochard (Paris 1788 – Brussels 1872). 1816-1817. Oval. Half-length portrait, turned three-quarters to the right, gazing at spectator, wearing a white low-cut dress fastened with a single blue button/jewel at the bosom, with blue and gold puffed sleeves, and a blue ribbon belt with bow. Blue eyes, short curly fair hair tumbling over her right forehead and just over the tops of her ears, fresh complexion, red lips. Red curtain to left, greenish-yellow background. No.25 in Guide 'A large oval miniature in gold frame of Princess Charlotte, painted by Simon James Rochard in 1816. An extremely fine work of great merit'.

Bequeathed to the National Trust by Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966) with the house and the rest of the contents.
