Summary
Watercolour on paper, Sportsman with Dog (possibly Henry John Temple, 3rd Viscount Palmerston, KG, GCB, MP (1784-1865)) by Thomas Heaphy, London 1775 - London 1835). Scottish landscape with portrait of youth with gun, dead blackcock, grouse, etc behind him. His top hat lies on a moss-covered rock left foreground. No dog. Label on frame 'T. Heaphy 1775-1835'. Possibly a portrait of the young Henry John Temple, 3rd Lord Palmerston.
Provenance
Bequeathed to the National Trust by Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966) with the house and the rest of the contents.
