Summary
Copper electrotype, a waisted vase in the French Renaissance Revival style, late 19th century. One of a pair of patinated copper electrotype vases, with waisted bodies, fluted stems and scrolling foliage handles; with NT 515146.2. The repousse mouldings incorporate rosettes, guilloche and strapwork, calyxes, scrolls, palmettes and acanthus. Mounted on an stone pedestals. The pair formerly at Canford Manor, Dorset, seat of the Viscounts Wimborne until 1923.
Provenance
Formerly at Canford Manor, Dorset; purchased by Urban Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966); bequeathed to the National Trust by Lord Fairhaven with the house and the rest of the contents.
