Summary
Rectangular hammered iron bullion chest, canted angles, serpentine front,all-over design of foliage and masks in repousse bronze, twin locks with lion guards and 2 keys, raised on bun feet. Perhaps Nuremburg 16th century.
Provenance
Bequeathed to the National Trust by Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966) with the house and the rest of the contents.
