Watercolour on paper, Windsor Castle, 1836 by Thomas Sidney Cooper, CVO, RA (Canterbury 1803 – Vernon Holme, near Canterbury 1902) and James Baker Pyne (Bristol 1800 - London 1870), signed 'PYNE 36'. View across meadows to castle with cows grazing and tree in foreground, river left. Label on mount 'Windsor Castle, 1836, T.S. Cooper and J.B. Pyne'. A watercolour copy of their oil (Bunt Cat No.18, pl.37) not in NT collection. Mounted on card.
Provenance
Bequeathed to the National Trust by Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966) with the house and the rest of the contents.
