Summary
A historic heating system comprising of a Beaness Steel Sectional Boiler, six no. sections, water tank above, coal hole adjacent, flow and return pipes disconnected. The plate on the boiler reads 'Makers/Binns & Speight Ltd/Bradford' along with a date of '30.3.56'. It also has a patent number '272032'.
Provenance
This boiler replaced the original 'Ideal' model which was installed in about 1919 and heated the three principal bedrooms, although no evidence of radiators in those rooms has ever been found. In an aide memoire written by former House Steward David Philipson in about 2000 it is noted that this 'huge boiler was brought in during the de Stein period for central heating but this didn't work as it proved too expensive'.
