Portrait miniature, watercolour painting on ivory, Sir Arthur Paul Benthall (1902-1992) (?) as a Child, British (English) School, c.1904. Circular. Head and shoulder portrait of a young child, full face, glancing to the right, with golden curly hair, and wearing a white frock. Pressed four-leaf clover at the back.
Provenance
Painted circa 1904. Owned by Sir Arthur Paul Benthall (1902 – 1992). Accepted in lieu of tax by H.M. Government in March 1993 following the death of Sir Arthur Paul Benthall in 1992 and allocated to The National Trust for display at Benthall Hall.
