Watercolour, on paper, Benthall Hall, Shropshire from the south west by John Hornby Maw (fl.1866-1870). View of the front of Benthall Hall from the south west, a female figure wearing a red jacket and long black skirt accompanied by three dogs in the foreground to the left. Glazed, modern rococo gilt frame, wash borders to mount. Inscribed - J.H.MAW 1870 (signed and dated bottom right).
Provenance
Painted by John Hornby Maw in 1870. Given to the National Trust by Mr. Hugh Workman in June 1980.
