Summary
Print, engraving, Stag Hunting 2 - La Chase Au Cerf (after William Samuel Howitt) by James Godby (1790-1815) and Henri Merke (b.Niederweningen fl.c.1800 -c.1820). One of a set of six prints of hunting scenes. An outdoor scene set around a large pond. Six main male figures on horseback; wearing riding hats, red coats and blue neck cloths. Four in the foreground heading towards the pond and two men on horses in the pond with crops raised. A pack of dogs and one deer are also in the pond. Inscribed 'STAG HUNTING 2. LA CHASSE AU CERF'.
