Summary
An original framed and glazed photograph of the Hon. Hugo Claude Legh (second youngest son of the third Lord and Lady Newton, 1916-1933) aged about fourteen. Head and shoulders shot, he has dark hair with a side parting, a white shirt, dark tie and dark jacket, dark mottled studio backdrop. Contemporary 1930 plain black painted wooden frame.
Provenance
Miss Mc Varish is in charge of the estate of the late Sir Francis Legh who was the son of the third Lord and Lady Newton, doubtless this photograph of his older brother who died when he was seventeen either belonged to him or he removed it from Lyme when the house was given to The National Trust in 1946.
