Summary
A pair of red deer antlers with section of skull, hanging by a brass ring.
Provenance
Original to the house, inscription on the back of skull indicates the original position of the antlers at Lyme in the nineteenth century - outside the Study. The antlers were originally given to Dr and Mrs Brearley by Mrs Brearley's cousin Norman Titterton. Mr Titterton was the former butler to the Third Lord Newton and subsequently curator of Lyme until the 1960s.
