Summary
An eight-day longcase clock in an oak and mahogany case; made by S.Fairall of Disley. Mahogany hood with two mirrored scrolling pieces with central pediment, two baluster columns flank the dial plate with hinged, glazed door. Trunk has reeded pilaster flanking a gothic shaped door with ornate brass escutcheon; moulded panel beneath door with straight banding, standing on bracket feet. Square enamel dial plate with painted spandrels in various colours each depicting a figure standing infront of a monument. Chapter ring painted with Roman numerals and dial centre has two subidiary dials with ormulu hands; ornate ormulu hands with pierced decoration.
