Summary
A boulle/buhl work (tortoiseshell, ormolu) ink stand, rectangular case, concave sides mounted on four ormolu feet, decorated with escalope and leaves. The case with front drawer with ormolu knob handle, the top with two concave penholders with central section of two sunken circular ink stands. Cut glass inkpot and a small compartment with cover, a small ormolu knob handle, also a large ormolu carrying handle with scrolls, flowers and leaves. The entire is elaborately decorated with tortoiseshell ground and overlaid brass boulle/buhl work forming delicately scrolling leaves and flowers.
